My step-dad, papa, amazes me. He gets up really early on his days off and gets out there and works on the yard, cares for our ducks, and communes with nature….sometimes communing with nature includes killing rattle snakes in our backyard (like the one I discovered yesterday while feeding the dogs…I was very much so in its biting range) or playing with our dogs.
I didn’t get a picture of him so yesterday as he spent 9 hours in the sun, but I there is something I can share with you:
Gila Bend’s Weather
Clear Temperature: 110 °F
That’s today’s weather in Gila Bend. Yesterday’s was 114 °F. That man is crazy. He understands that I have to work on comics so he doesn’t expect me to go out there and help him. However I take it upon myself to keep the man hydrated. Honestly, he’s crazy. The news even had a story on TV where they just went and interviewed folks complaining about how hot it is:
Anyway, the point is my papa has honey badger blood and if there’s one thing that that man has taught me it’s that you don’t have to be smart so much as be a hard worker…I’m not saying he’s dumb….I think what I mean is that I really should get back to work. Tune in next week for me to be all giddy about getting out of this heat!
PS here is that next Ub-Zerv comic
I figured I should post something since I’ve been giving out this blog address to tons of people. Also I thought it would be fun.
So I went to comic con last weekend! Woohoo! It was pretty great. I didn’t make a ton of money but I definitely had a ton of fun with it. I got to hand out a lot of postcards with the first comic page to Attack on the Kingdom of Fire. It’s this little 4 page comic I’m going to complete over the summer. It’s written by my baby brother. I came over to play one day and he had this whole wonderful story about this lego castle and this king that liked to kick metal walls. Of course, boys his age like to make things invincible, so I came up with a scenario that was invulnerable to all his castle’s tricks and this little comic is what he came up with.
Right now I am working on redrawing 6 weeks worth of comics so that Boy’s Cat is will be in it’s best shape for syndication applications. So far I have completed 6 comics, a weeks worth without the Sunday comics. I’m excited. I will not be posting the cleaner ones up here because I don’t want to risk it but I will post the rest that I sent to the State Press up here once I get my computer back. I also have a comic I am doing for the State Press for over the summer that I call Ub-Zerv. I’ll post that up here too. I did a series of sketches that are fun little humorous drawings that I started during comic con. I plan on continuing them and posting them as well.
Be patient with me internets, for soon all these goodies will be available to you. For now I shall just share with you my friend, Ub and his summer adventures on Earth.
With lots of smiles…and sweat,
